The commission has initiated a program to invite proposals on innovative applications of science and technology for socio-economic development. This application could be linked to the material resources, specific issues related to, and potential for, development; the activities could be area-specific or sector specific.

an encouraging response. The project ideas, as well as detailed proposals received, are scrutinized by a peer review committee, followed by a review by experts in the field and finally submitted for approval by the appraisal committee set up by the Commission.
The Commission encourages collaborative/networked projects and programs of National S&T Agencies
To spread project activity and extend research culture to smaller institutions, the Commission is implementing a scheme through the university network. Projects of short duration and linked to local resources, skills, problems and development needs are expected to be implemented at science and engineering colleges and even polytechnics. Presently following Universities are implementing the scheme.

This would help in encouraging and developing research capabilities and innovative environments at smaller institutions in the areas of jurisdiction of universities. The affiliated colleges and institutions should contact their respective university that is implementing the scheme for more information about the scheme and submission of proposals.
This is a new Scheme launched by the Commission for the benefit of the School Students. It is a facility for students to undertake innovative activities in Science.

Interested Schools should first submit the Pre-Proposals to the Commission. These would be Peer-reviewed for any decision.
In collaboration with the National Council for Science Museums, the Commission has set up a Sub-Regional Science Center at Solapur. Similar Science Center would be considered at other locations in the State.
The Commission implements various National Programs related to science popularization activities, such as National Science day and Event-based Projects.

The commission has initiated a new scheme in which collaborative projects between the Institutions and Industries will be supported. The scheme envisages inviting proposals jointly prepared by research institutions and industries. These innovative research projects could be of interest to both Industry & Institution and may involve scaling up bench scale work, pilot projects, field demonstrations, location specific projects etc. These projects are expected to be demand driven and is expected to result in effective technology transfer.

Scrutiny of the projects would be on peer review basis inclusive of referring to domain experts and presentation before the Project Appraisal Committee of the Commission.
